ACIS Consulting and Rosor Exploration have completed an OCI-supported public-data demonstration of an AI-assisted geophysical interpretation workflow. The initial report identifies areas for further chromite-focused review in Ontario’s Ring of Fire region. Experienced geophysicists peer reviewed the interpretation and its limitations.
The Ring of Fire in northern Ontario hosts significant critical-mineral potential and is a focus of long-term infrastructure, exploration and development planning. Responsible discovery could support future mining activity, regional investment and supply chains. Geological potential is not a prediction that any individual target will become an economic deposit.
Client survey datasets are confidential, so we demonstrated the platform using available public-domain studies and datasets. The workflow combines magnetic responses and derivatives with mapped geology, structural information, gravity, drilling and known mineral occurrences. It traces where these layers agree, where they conflict and where the available coverage is too thin to support a strong conclusion.
Magnetic maps can contain far more detail than a person can comfortably inspect feature by feature. The platform helps organize source-scale responses, compare related derivatives, and rank hypotheses across extensive spatial data. A derivative of the same magnetic survey is a stability check; it does not count as independent geological confirmation. Dikes, remanence and other lithologies can resemble a desired response, so alternative explanations remain part of the interpretation.
Experienced geophysicists examined the outputs, target rationale and evidence gaps. The result is an initial prioritization for technical discussion and the design of follow-up tests. It is not a mineral-resource estimate, a discovery claim, or a substitute for field verification, additional geophysics and drilling decisions made by qualified teams.
