EVIDENCE-LED ESTIMATING
A drawing can imply stock choices, machining steps, tolerances, finishing, inspection and supplier work. The assistant brings those requirements into a line-item cost picture while making uncertainty visible to the estimator.

The workflow proposes standard stock requirements and identifies where cutting, heat treatment, coating, inspection or other services may be needed. It records sequence, specification, source and supplier response status for review.

A controlled estimating guidebook can hold work activities, step templates, time ranges and adjustment rules. Similar historical jobs provide additional context. Where evidence is weak, the estimate is labelled accordingly and routed for human review.

The aim is to capture how experienced staff estimate work, including overrides and reasons, so the process becomes more consistent over time. AI suggestions are preliminary inputs, not an automatic commitment to price or deliver.
