PUBLIC-DATA CASE STUDY

Exploring chromite hypotheses in the Ring of Fire

In an OCI-supported project, we used publicly available studies and datasets to demonstrate the platform while respecting client confidentiality. Peer review by experienced geophysicists has informed the interpretation; final technical adoption remains pending.

EVIDENCE 01

Why this region

The Ring of Fire contains significant chromite and other critical mineral potential. Responsible development could contribute to northern economic activity and Canadian mineral supply chains; exploration, infrastructure, environmental assessment and Indigenous engagement remain essential.

EVIDENCE 02

What the study examined

The reviewed interpretation combined magnetic response and derivatives with mapped geology, gravity products, drill and mineral occurrence context. It organized a portfolio of source-scale hypotheses and identified areas that merit follow-up review.

EVIDENCE 03

How to read the findings

The maps and ranking are preliminary. Magnetic response is non-unique; gravity is regional context at its source resolution; and the target list requires reconciliation with later corrected magnetic processing. No mapped outline is an orebody, discovery probability or drill recommendation.

What the team can use

  • Public-domain demonstration, not a client disclosure
  • Transparent evidence and alternative explanations
  • A practical example of where further work can reduce uncertainty
